“I Love You a Little” is the title of this watercolor illustration made to accompany the following poem I used the direct method of painting. The bright colors reflect the intention of the poem.
I Love You A Little
I love you a little I love you a lot
You’re the fish on the end of my line.
You’re the wind in the willows,
The sun in my sky,
And always my Valentine.
You’re the waves on the ocean, the shade when it’s hot
The shell that I find in the sand.
The flag on my castle the, rain in my moat,
The treasure I hold in my hand.
I love you a lot I love you some more
You’re the milk in my cereal bowl.
You’re the mmmmm in my ice cream, blue sprinkles on top,
The yum of my cinnamon roll.
You’re the seeds in my garden, the flowers that grow
The dots on a ladybug’s wing.
You’re as sweet as the honey a honeybee makes,
You’re the reason my heart wants to sing.
I love you some more and I love you again
You’re the clasp to the circle of love.
You’re the wind in the willows,
The sun in my sky,
And always my Valentine.
